23 weeks and a name!

Yup, thats right we have a name for our little lady mcnugget! We decided it on Mother’s Day, but wanted to call her the name for a week to make sure we still loved it before we told family and now you!

So how we came up with it… On Mother’s Day Chase made me breakfast in bed (sweetheart!) and then we were talking about her name and how we wanted to decide between the two we had narrowed it down to (Sydney & Lydia)… so we looked up the meaning for both and then read the story of Lyida in the Bible in Acts 16:13-15 & 40. (read it- it’s good) separately and when Chase came in from the other room I was sitting on the bed with tears rolling down my cheeks and I looked at Chase and said I think her name is Lydia May! And he said ok! I love it! We talked about how cool it was that she was a “seller of purple goods” and the fact that I love purple and we had just recently decided to add purple to the nursery colors… and how we have been praying since we found out we were pregoo that “God would open her heart” to believe in Him one day…. and how we would love for our little Liddy to be hospitable and welcoming to all people. We felt like this story and name was perfect for our first little girl that we will have in the Middle East:) We can’t wait to hold and kiss her in about 16 weeks! (give or take) Oh and the meaning of Lydia is “of noble kind”!

p.s. We decided on May for the middle name because it is my middle name and my grandmas!

How far along? 23 weeks (on May30th)

Total weight gain: I think 10? … feel like my face has filled out this week- boo!

Maternity clothes? Yes, but still can wear some regular clothes

Stretch marks? None so far!

Sleep: great!

Best moment this week: Getting to share Lydia’s name with our family!

Miss Anything? laying on my tummy… to read, type on the computer, sleep… anything really.

Movement: Yup! She is a mover and I love every second I feel her move. It makes me giggle every time. She does little fast jabs and kind of a wave movement quite often 🙂

Food cravings: nothing in particular this week… but loving cold fruit and anything with ICE! When it is about 112 degrees everyday I think iced drinks (coffee, water, tea.. ) is the only way to go.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Arab food still… but slowly adding more back in

Gender: girl! The last ultrasound, which was the in-depth one, they told us she is 101% a girl! Also, praise the Lord, everything looked great on the ultrasound and she is measuring on schedule… what a gift from the Lord. Praying she continues to develop well and is full term.

Labor Signs: Nope- way too early for that!

Symptoms: stretching pains in my stomach as it grows, heartburn about 2 times a week and tired feet at the end of the day

Belly Button in or out? in (with a hit of out… waiting to see if it will go all the way out..?)

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Enjoying being pregnant and this time in our lives!

Looking forward to: our babymoon to Thailand next week!! And finishing school so I can do some more baby planning… my brain feels so divided right now…

Sorry its been a while since I have posted… hoping to update the 365 tomorrow!

LOVE the name! What a sweet story you’ll be able to share with your sweet girl one day. Y’all look adorable in the photo. I can’t believe it gets to 112F there! I’ve been missing/craving snow cones and it’s in the 50s-60s here. I can’t imagine how bad the craving would be if it were 112! So happy for y’all. 🙂
