the.first.post.

I am sitting in front of my computer trying to think of what suave words I should try to convey in this first post, but the pressure becomes too great and I just end up starring out the window.  This isn’t an ordinary window though.  I’m not sitting at our desk at home, or in a coffee shop sipping an Americano. No, I am looking out at the vast west Texas landscape in our cramped, energy efficient Honda headed out to Dallas for the 7th time in the last five months.

As many of you know, Britt and I are preparing to move overseas.  We wanted to set up this website so that we could keep in touch with all of you, and share with you our everyday happenings as we prepare to move as well as when we are in the middle east.  We hope that you enjoy our little corner of the Internet.

A few thoughts:

  1. We are so grateful to all of you that have been so supportive of our ministry, encouraging us when we think we are crazy and lose confidence. Thank you.
  2. This has been a long process for us. More and more we owning up to the fact that we need your prayer and involvement.
  3. There is nothing else that we would rather be doing. It’s hard. There is sacrifice involved. Sometimes we cry. But there is a greater hope, which makes us smile and gives us butterflies in our stomach.

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and we look forward to hearing from you and sharing in this great cause that has been laid before us both.

From beyond the desert,

    1. West Texas landscapes inspired Buddy Holly, and Weezer through Buddy Holly, and me through Weezer through Buddy Holly.
