This past weekend we had a yard sale at our house! It was a huge success and lots of fun! The Remkes and the Reeves joined us. I can’t tell you how great it feels to get rid of this stuff! We made over $300 and NONE of the items that didn’t sell came back into our house… Chase took what we didn’t sell to goodwill.
We also sold our guest bed and frames and made another 100 bucks! Which is a great help with all the traveling we will be doing in the upcoming months.
Hope you enjoy these pictures… it is my first time to create a collage of pics- it was super easy and fun!
Last weekend my cousin Christie threw Chase and I a Pampered Chef Fundraiser party in Albuquerque! It was a huge success with lots of great orders from friends in Albuquerque and online orders from friends in Texas. Thank you so much to everyone for supporting us and helping us out. We love you all. :0)

Mrs. Myers!! My little sister, Aubrey, also known as “little one” got engaged on August 1st! We are so excited for her and Knate and can’t wait for the big day. I must say I was SUPER excited that Knate proposed sooner rather than later because now I get to be part of all the planning fun. We have already looked through tons of magazines, gone wedding dress shopping, and looked at bridesmaid dresses… thank you again Knate for allowing me to be part of this special time in Aubs life .
Another blessing is that Knate and Aubrey are going to get married (most likely) on July 2, 2011- which means Chase and I will be home next summer to celebrate and be part of the BIG day! I wouldn’t miss this day for the world and so thankful that we get to have one more Johnson girl wedding.
Congrats Aubrey and Knate- we love you both and are so excited to see where the Lord takes you both. Knate thank you for loving my little sister and for making her so happy- I love seeing her “Knate face” (HUGE smile) every time she talks about you. Can’t wait to call you brother!
a few weeks ago my two sisters and cousin Lindsay all got together for the weekend to work on crafts, lay out by the pool, eat great food and take pictures with my grandma (will post these once we get them). We had a fabulous weekend and hope to make it an annual event (or at least whenever Chase & I make it back in the states..) So blessed to have them all in my life.
Here are a few pictures…

Chase and I stayed in the new Overton Hotel in Lubbock for our anniversary…
We would it give the hotel a pretty good review: the room was nice, the staff was friendly, the view was great (well as great as a Lubbock view can be!)… however there was NO bathtub! For those of you that don’t know, Chase and I only have a standing shower at our house and I LOVE bubble baths, so whenever we stay somewhere else I always want to take a bath… when Chase saw the room he realized there was no bathtub… he went and asked the front desk if we could move, but there were no other available rooms… he tried & felt really bad about and I ended up surviving without it- ha. They also do not have pay per-view movies… which seemed strange to me.
The restaurant however was a different story- we gave it a fair review with the potential to be great… for starters there was no advertisement of the hotel restaurant in the hotel room- we had to call the front desk to know where it was- the atmosphere of the restaurant was great & could be a really popular place- we just think they need better advertising. The food was ok, but we did go at like 9:00pm, so we will give it another try. Sorry for my long review on the hotel and restaurant- not sure if it is because this is what I got my degree in or if Chase and I just love critiquing (in a good way) places we visit… anyway there is our two-sences about it.
All in all we had a GREAT time… it is always relaxing to just get away from the house full of laundry, dirty dishes and just be together with no distractions. Thanks babe for a lovely evening- I love you!
Chase bought me a super cute dress & apron and I bought him a hydration pack! Our tradition (2 years now) is to have red velvet cake on our anniversary- I wanted to make it from scratch, but ran out of time so we picked up some not-so-tasty slices from Market Street! I intend to make one from scratch soon…
This year for my birthday I asked my mom if she could send me to Portland, OR to visit my dear friend Cassie and her new precious baby, Jonah. And it actually happened! I got to go visit Cas, David (her sweet husband), Jonah (such a cute baby), and Cassie wonderful family (Julie, Cade, Tim, Kelsey and Aunt Jaris). I had an amazing time. We just hung out at the house, made yummy food, learned how to make home-made bread, held Jonah, watched Jonah laugh, cry and eat, catch up on life and play with Jonah some more. Oh we also made it to the Outlet mall and the Colombia Outdoor Wear employee store- lots of great deals- which was great!
Before I show you any pictures I have to tell you about my unique friendship with this family. I met Cassie in 4th grade and we became instant Best Friends. We did everything together… we both even wore big round glasses! In 5th grade we found out that Cassie would be moving to Portland, OR for her dads job- super tragic. I thought I had lost my best friend…
However, God is good and we were able to keep in touch all these years as if no time had passed at all! We have only seen each other 7-8 times (including both our weddings) since she moved and without hardly any communication (a few emails and cards now and again), but every time we do get to see each other it is just as sweet as the last. I hope that one day we can live closer, but if that never happens I am confident that we will be life long friends! Thanks for a great week- I love you all dearly!
last week Chase and I made home-made granola! and it is DELICIOUS! Mix it with ca-raisins and pour it over vanilla yogurt and you have yourself a pretty yummy breakfast…
My friend Kristin Foster is selling bags and other fun accessories through a company called “Thirty-One”. The bags are super cute and reasonable prices! You can pick from different patterns and have them embroidered for only $6. I threw a party for her this weekend called, “Lemons and Ladies”. I based the whole theme of the party off these yellow tissue balls I made for a shower that I wanted to reuse. It turned out super cute with a fun lemony menu. Here is what we served:
It was a great party with great food! If you want to look at the catalog and order anything click here. We are going to close the party this Sunday (July 25).
this is the only picture I took!

Chase & I have been married for 2 years (yesterday was our anniversary!). It has been an incredible two years of our lives… lots of life changing events, big decisions, road trips, laughs and tears.
Yesterday we went to dinner at Thai Pepper and we were discussing some of our favorite memories together over the past two years. I thought I would share a few with you…
Our honeymoon in San Francisco
Our one year anniversary- we ordered Dions pizza and staying in a local hotel for the night
Our trip to Oman in March 2009
Many a nights experimenting with cooking and then evaluating what we came up with… letting each other know what we would do next time
Our trip to Orlando, FL in January
getting caught in a snow storm on our way back from Albuquerque- we spent the night in a hotel in Santa Rosa!
Our million road trips together over the last 5 months (even if I have slept during a lot of them 🙂 )
Staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Post, TX
Watching episode after episode of the “Friends” DVDs – mostly avoiding being productive
Those are just a few of our favorite memories…looking forward to many more!
Here’s to 78 more years together! (when we got married we said ” Can’t wait to spend 80 more years together… so we have 2 down!)
I am sitting in front of my computer trying to think of what suave words I should try to convey in this first post, but the pressure becomes too great and I just end up starring out the window. This isn’t an ordinary window though. I’m not sitting at our desk at home, or in a coffee shop sipping an Americano. No, I am looking out at the vast west Texas landscape in our cramped, energy efficient Honda headed out to Dallas for the 7th time in the last five months.
As many of you know, Britt and I are preparing to move overseas. We wanted to set up this website so that we could keep in touch with all of you, and share with you our everyday happenings as we prepare to move as well as when we are in the middle east. We hope that you enjoy our little corner of the Internet.
A few thoughts:
We are so grateful to all of you that have been so supportive of our ministry, encouraging us when we think we are crazy and lose confidence. Thank you.
This has been a long process for us. More and more we owning up to the fact that we need your prayer and involvement.
There is nothing else that we would rather be doing. It’s hard. There is sacrifice involved. Sometimes we cry. But there is a greater hope, which makes us smile and gives us butterflies in our stomach.
That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and we look forward to hearing from you and sharing in this great cause that has been laid before us both.
